Difference Between a Vector Image vs Pixel Image
Vector Image Format:
- It is like a drawing made with lines and mathematical shapes.
- It can be resized larger or smaller without becoming blurry or pixelated.
- It is ideal for logos, drawings, stickers, and things we want to print in different sizes without losing quality.
- The files are usually smaller and easier to edit.
Pixel Image Format (Raster):
- It is like a photo made up of small color boxes called pixels.
- If we enlarge it too much, the squares become visible and the image looks blurry.
- It is great for photographs and very detailed design elements.
- The files can be larger, and sometimes it's difficult to edit without losing quality.
Summary:
In short, vector images are perfect for designs that need to scale and resize without issues, such as logos and stickers, while pixel-based images are better for photos and detailed designs, but they can't be resized too large without losing quality.
